Crystal - Day after Turkey day was created by ddk
Big day, nothing like any of the forecasts predicted…some new light smoky stuff, bigger lift slowing early winds (but they kept them running!, at least the important ones), bigger than expected pay crowd (the season pass line moves a lot faster!!!!, will change at some point this season when the GO cards get GOING). A few random lift line waits that just pushed us some where else. The Big things – PB multiple times, Valley (Bowl! Grubstake proper (the B…tch!!!! Awesome behind CD in the sun!!! Ouch!!!), Ann’s Run!, My fav run!), SunnySide (for JD!!!very fun), M-world – more challenging, but still good. Rocks in places, but better than yesterday. Less snow than forecast, a lot more sun then expected. Did not want to quit…but decided to save something for the next few days. All in all the best day (for me) this season. A few lift problems, CHex not running for a few hours mid day, heard there was some pretty un-happy folks at the bottom mid day...made it better for us on top...thanks. Lots of fun. Lots of vert. Parking – pay lot almost got ¾ full, B lot 4/5’s full, cars in C, D and E lots….so Crystal should have been very happy with all the money flowing…..ddk

Yeah, the drive to Alpental looked really nice today. Guess if you feel that way about Crystal, Crystal must feel the same about you. Just sayin..

Gotta say that if your a Alpy person you might not know were not to go during the big rock season at Crystal...oh well sorry for you...did hear that it was pretty nasty at the base when CHex was broken...sorry again just got to get up earlier or dont go to the bottom - not required at Crystal unlike at Alpental where you always have to cycle through the bottom. Day was great and the lifts were running - unlike at Alpental. Dang!

Welcome back Craig.... are you in Lot B and are you still wearing those hallucinogenic pants this year?
I didn't ski today cuz I have butthurt( literally) from hitting rocks with my bum.

I take Advil(R) for rock-induced butthurt, and Tylenol(R) for everything else.
Crystal Mountain is a fantastic area. It's the Kootenay Pass of ski areas in Washington State.
