May 15,2010,Blackcomb

There is only a week left to ski Blackcomb's upper mountain. We had great conditions in very warm temperatures last weekend. I spent most of the day in my poly undershirt. Nick BC accompanied me as we got first tracks in 7th Heaven (Photo 2). We played there until noon when we climbed Spanky's Ladder to access Ruby Bowl. It was less "corny" than I expected but was still fun (photo 3). The run- out less so! My most enjoyable run of the day was down Pakalolo (Photo1).
I used my last Edge Card day, but I do have one of those Shell 2 for 1 tickets that I might use if the weather forecast improves.

Is that Nick in fancy new clothing, and superwide K2 skis? Coombacks? Where did he find a sponsor? Or did he win the lottery?

Like you and me, Nick is retired. I suspect that his income is considerably better than mine,though. He has enjoyed his big skis on the several trips that we have taken together this year. And after hearing me complain about some of my friends who insist on wearing non-photogenic, bland coloured clothes while skiing, he humours me with vibrant coloured gear. It has paid off with several cover page shots.
