Thursday - Spring skiing

About 35 degrees in the parking lot A this morning.  So a little warm.  All morning it snowed heavily, heavy big snow.  Snow was heavy fresh stuff over hard pack, no grooming.  I expect that there will be grooming for the weekend crowd.

Up the Rex, less snowfall but heavy fog.  No wind.  Stepped off the GV rim and could see nothing but my skis.  Ski by touch and generaly knowing where things were.  Halfway down the bowl, I could start seeing the snow.  After lunch we got some sun through fog.

Sucky-braking was at the lower rex chair level after lunch.

So we skied lots of fresh snow... on the heavy side. Lots of snow, but getting sucky low down, which is to be expected this time of the year.  Had some good runs... I skied strong, crud busting style.  Plowed through the piled up stuff.  Could be a little difficult off groom with the frozen bumpy stuff underneath.

My last lift ski of the year... will be out hiking.

So quiet up there today.  Very few folks.  Paid for my next year's bronze pass.  Can't pay for the gondola yet.

The End
