April 8-10, Whistler Blackcomb

We made a first-time trip up to Whistler last week and were not disappointed.  They are having a banner year for snowfall and we were lucky enough to hit it on the tail end of another storm, followed by fair weather over the weekend.  We skied Blackcomb on Friday, Whistler on Saturday, and both on Sunday.  It was hard to catch it all, but we especially enjoyed lines above Blackcomb Glacier, off of the 7th Heaven chair, in the Harmony and Symphony basins, and of course, off of Whistler Peak.  The touring possibilities looked endless, but we stayed inbounds due to avalanche concerns.  It should be a nice long season for it up there.
