The lift fiasco was something about some guy did not have his pass on him and ther older lifty (Kim) was giving him a hard time and then they tried to take his board away from him. Not cool, not sure why or what the story was.

Why is it the ticket checker is "giving him a hard time" if someone tries to ride without a ticket? They guy is doing what his employer pays him to do. At The Summit if you are caught without a pass or ticket and start acting like an ass you will trespassed for a year and possibly charged with theft of services, it happens.

He was a local and everyone knew him from what I heard. There are always 2 sides to a story.

It was his 2nd run and someone else had already let him on, so obviously someone did not do their simple job in the 1st place.

The guy isn't the regular checker at Alpental, probably why he wasn't buying into anything.

...so even if the "rules" are posted clearly, then the legitimacy of the actual delivery of service depends on who is a "regular" employee and who is not? My 15-plus year experience with the Snoqualmie Pass scheme of operations is consistently horrific, from top management all the way down to the untrained/unattentive/unaware minimum wage liftie. I have seen this from many aspects, as I have been a consumer, volunteer, and directly-interfacing business person. While the Snoq. Pass area remains close-in, convenient and very skiable, the service most always is piss-poor. Somebody's powder day was ruined due to this continuing trend...
