After showing my Yankee friend around Crystal, we decided it was time for this rebel to ski lifts at Baker for the first time in his 45th year of skiing. Hit the road early Saturday to avoid traffic, then waited an hour in line for chair one to load into the snowstorm. No need to swear me to secrecy, I could not see anything, and the powder was excellent. Untracked ski lines were available all day and lift lines settled as the crowds disbursed or departed after the morning Easter egg hunt.
Sunday was bluebird, uncrowded, and windless with 12-19" powder, our Easter golden egg! It was a great northern equivalent to our runs on the King at Crystal. The natives were friendly, fortunately I know the names of no runs so the secrets are safe.
This morning brought a return of low visibility and new snow. Yesterday's sun left some stiff crusty tracks under the soft blanket, so we decided to head home for chores. Hope to be ready for the next Apruary conditions later this week! Thanks to TP, and apologies for posting.
