It was a amazing day yesterday. Arrived about 9 after passing some stranded cars on the access road chaining up in the middle of the road. Skied on Forest Queen all morning and enjoyed making soft turns on the groomed runs. It was a little dicey off-piste because the frozen crud made an irregular subbase. Luckily it was snowing so hard that two hours later it was smooth sailing.

Got in line for Rex at 1:45 but the rumor mill let me know that it would be at least 30 minutes before it opened up. In the meantime I got in 4 or five laps on Chinook. The sun broke out and it was beautiful for a while. The snow started to settle and my legs were getting tired so it was a huff. Saw Rex opening so I got back in line and hooked up with Kevin a boarder from B-ham hitting Crystal for the first time. We got in four runs as near-whiteout conditions rolled in.

Probably my best day of the year.

After a morning of riding some softer chop we waited in line for Rainer, decided to cut over to Green Valley immediately as it looked like there would be a pack coming down.
We ended up being the first down on chair right and I got the joy of packing out a trail for the lift line with my right leg dropping thigh deep (I'm a knuckle dragger). The runs on green valley were VERY deep and complete blower.
Last run of the day back to the car was my best of the season, endlessly deep and since we cut out at around 3:45 we had first tracks ;D

Only thing that would have made my day better is if the recreational spyder gear types who can't seem to keep speed through whoops would stay off of traverses and the snowboarders who get scarred at anything above 30 degrees would NOT sideslip pow away under small cliffs, but I think that's too much ask ::)
