3rd chair at about 8:45 with blue skies, no wind. 1/2 price for teachers: extra nice. Place was deserted! Nice first shot down Schluct. There were great cold leftovers in the shade such as far skier's right Eidelweiss bowl and skier's right on the lower International fan. A couple of inches true fresh over the cut-up but still soft snow from the last few days. Backcountry gates opened and a lot of folks headed out; there was a sketchy bump just after the top gate sign The sun did some damage but then it clouded over and started snowing about 11:30. We left happy by 12:30 or so to meet work obligations. A great 1/2 day. There are definitely a few bare patches and rocks but this should provide a nice base for the next expected snow.
