The Snow Troopers hitting the jackpot as far as GREAT powder is concerned. Showed up at Alyeska Resort Monday the 8th of March 2010 w/ a 31" base. Tuesday the 9th waking up late for the 10:30AM (like that schedule!!!) regular opening only to find a new base total of 63"!?! Understandable that the mountain would be opening late due to high avy danger and MASS control work to be completed. No worries from The Snow Troopers, oh yeah, the Hwy from Anchorage closed for the DAY due to HUGE slides. Turned out the top chair reported 45" of fresh over night and the first chair of the day was loaded at 1:20PM. Super deep feather light snow lift served up and ready to go! Over the next 3 days the patrol fed the terrain perfectly to the public, starting every day w/ some untracked. Mix in a Chugach trip and the kick butt dinner they treat their weekly heli guests to after a evening tram ride to the Seven Glaciers restaurant where Chef Tanner Exposito served up the BEST dinner ever. Finished off the wonderful stay in Girdwood, Alaska by taking a 30 min. drive up to Turnagain Pass where bluebird skies and perfect knee deep pow was the best way to finish a trip I almost didn't come back from. Time to start planning next years trip.

Not much more to add other than I think Alpental has some of the sickest lift serve terrain out there but did like all Alyeska had to offer off the lifts, but when you go above the lift serve it becomes quite BIG.

See you on the mountain when you make it up, look for the Phat skin tracks!
