Mar. 17, 2010, Alpental,WA, St. Patty's Day Pow

Good St. Patty’s Day up at Alpental, WA w/ 4″ new on top that rode more like 8″ new when hitting the knolls in the near backcountry. The day started w/ snow flurries and cloudy skies, but by mid morning some blue was showing through. I think there was maybe 100 people on the mountain today so there is plenty to be had in the AM.

Thanks for the inspiration. The 4" didn't get rip me away from work, but when you said it felt like 8", well that's good enough for me. Skinned up to Pineapple the next day. Felt like a dave_perkins skintrack (straight up) and sure enough he was up climbing on the tooth. He took these cool pictures of me from the 2nd pitch.
