Huge crowds at Crystal on Saturday for the cold powder. Much colder than on Friday morning.
Spent the day skiing with my son.
The morning found us hitting the trees in Snorting Elk where we encountered untracked deep powder skier's left of Blazing Elk and other goodies in the trees on the way back to the Green Valley Chair.
When chair 6 opened we headed over there and joined the 15-20 minute lift line. Climbed the Throne and enjoyed nice light snow in the chutes and even better snow on the shoulder near the rope line.
The best though was hitting southback when it opened and running laps in DFF.
During the course of the day we encountered snow showers, sun, graupel, and intense snowing at the end of the day. Looks good for Sunday.
Pictures:
1. my son skiing down the Throne Chute
2. skiing Campbell Basin
3. Heavy snowfall in the southback
A great day spent with my son. These ski days with him seem even more precious to me as I face his leaving home for Bozeman and MSU in the fall. They grow up so fast...

Huge crowds and good snow were definitely the theme of the day. Got three excellent laps on Northday in the morning before the line became exceptionally long. Skied out I-5 instead of waiting which was probably equally as horrible.
South was excellent once it opened. Skiing off the King and in Silver Basin was fantastic.
Wrapped up a very good day by skiing the untracked lines down the Northway ropeline.

I confirm the above.
I love March pow... I need at least one more before the end of the Winter.
Here is a little helmet cam footage I shot yesterday (my camera bonked my 8:30am run out Brand X, which was awesome.... almost as awesome as my 12:00pm run down the front of The King).

Nice photos and video. The TAY'ers are the best. Thanks for coming through the line and smiling. It sure beats getting the third and fourth degree from some of the savage gapers.
Props to Keith for turning and burning all day. He is a skiing machine.

Man, what a kind thing to say about me. But I hope you don't mean that I ski like that robot !
I really appreciate the job that you guys do that is absolutely necessary to the operation of the mountain and not easy as you have to bear the brunt of customer dissatisfaction, work in terrible weather, deal with boredom, handle gapers, etc.
Thanks again. Your attitude is an essential ingredient toward building a real ski community at Crystal.
