Baker reported 8 inches of new overnight. The report was accurate -- 8 inches of wet concrete. Riding was pretty mediocre overall. There was a pretty impressive crown left from a controlled avy that had been set off by ski patrol above the Canyon prior to opening.
Conditions were basically the same that everyone else has reported at the other resorts today. The only difference is that there was none of the anger reported at Crystal, the crowds at Stevens or the rain at Alpental.
I agree that Baker lacked the anger, crowds and rain, although it was pretty close to rain at times, but I think the sliding deserves better than a mediocre rating. The schmoo we slew was positively epic.
