It's hard to believe this was my first venture into the Alpental BC this season. Scooted out the high traverse at about 10AM, dropped into Great Scott and then skinned up to Pineapple.
We enjoyed a nice run in 6-8" of high quality on top of hard base, working to avoid frozen avy debris in the flat light. After stopping for a bit in the Cave, made our way down to Source Lake and then back to the lift for a few nicely dusted groomers. Should be good until it warms up Thursday evening.
One of the nicer days at Alpental in a while.

To follow on this topic, I got 1st chair today (Wed) and harvested all of that 2" of fresh that they served in lift area. I cannot believe I took a powder day for 2", but it's been that kind of a season I guess. Lots of fun carving the groomers, but off piste in bounds was hellish. Wish i would have gone out the nash gate but I was solo. This week looks so promising

Hard to believe that Tuesday and Wednesday were my first turns at Alpental this year even though I have a season pass. I hit the Nash gate for every run. Skiing was enjoyable on slopes without buried debris. On our last run yesterday we hit 261 and offered great deep turns. Although not a great powder day I will take.
I ended up going back up with my son for some fun night skiing. (We usually go to west but closed at night now) No one there and the snow was still in great shape. When I ski with him I am also trying to teach myself to tele and am failing miserably. Any suggestions or resources would be greatly appreciated.
