A blue sky, sunshine ski day. Clouds rolled in over the South rim after lunch leaving a light overcast. So, there was just a little warming.. then cooling with the overcast.
Skiing was friggin great! Good snow, pow would be on the heavy side. Most pow accessable by lift would be pretty tracked out. Groomers are super. I didn't try to cover much mountain... just enjoyed the scenery.
If you go up often enough, you can hit some pretty good skiing. Ummmm... seemed like spring skiing. Early spring.

Thanks for the report. (I have particular interest since I had an invite to go to Crystal today but turned it down due to work.)
One part of your report I couldn't follow: "Good weekend type crowd." I'm confused. To me, this is an oxymoron. A weekend crowd is usually worse than a weekday crowd, at least in my view of the world, and given my opinion of crowds. But you describe it as 'good'. Was it crowded and you, unlike me, like crowds? Or was it relatively good, as in not crowded, for a weekend.
Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks again for the report.

I don't ski on the weekends on a regular basis. So, it can be a shock for a weekday skier trying to hit a weekend or holiday. I have seen holiday skiing that was just insane.
I have changed my attitude about weekend skiing lately. I appreciate that this is a time for family and lots of kids... yes their time. And I like to see folks having fun. The only reason I would go up on a weekend is to ski with grandkids, or friends, or like today because I just wanted to cruise a sunshine day.
This weekend was not insane. Lot B was about half full. The Shuttles did an ok job, not a great job. The lift lines were setup for weekend skiing, but wait times really were not too long. I got a lunch table at Campbell Basin Lodge (hard to do on an insane weekend). So, things ran smoothly, skiing was good and everybody had fun.
I do believe that the Kids Club had a computer problem and therefore there was a problem getting the little ones set up for skiing.
So, it was not a max crowd, but it was a weekend. This is what I call a good weekend crowd. Where you can still have fun.
