Light wind, in and out sun kept the snow from getting too heavy.   Very small crowd, untracked lines all day.  3" last night plus 4" the night before sat on top of 12" from last week off the groomers.  Some wind affect on Powder bowl, with avi debris below.  Bear Pits had nice soft bumps.  Many aspects in Chair 6 bowl skied very well.  Both N and S side of the King provided fun after southback opened at 11.  The last glade before ThreeWay Peak was nice and soft.   Specter of the Brocken appeared on the King around 1130, bonus!

Lots of fine skiing remains for the hordes tomorrow.  :)

Wow...  that is weird and new to me.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brocken_spectre     ......A Brocken spectre (German Brockengespenst), also called Brocken bow or mountain spectre is the apparently enormous and magnified shadow of an observer, cast upon the upper surfaces of clouds opposite the sun. The phenomenon can appear on any misty mountainside or cloud bank, or even from an aeroplane, but the frequent fogs and low-altitude accessibility of the Brocken, a peak in the Harz Mountains in Germany, have created a local legend from which the phenomenon draws its name.....

We also saw the Brocken Spectre from the top of Powder Bowl. Quite spectacular. As was the skiing. Details and Video of the day at web.me.com/snowind/Site/Kkz_Ski_Blog/Ent...North_and_South.html

Thanks Silas for the cool new term Specter of the Brocken.
Although it sounds like a float in a German Maifest Parade!
I have a couple cools shots of this phenomena of nature, it's really awesome!
It ranks right up there with Firn Spiegel and Graupel, as far as interesting names.
