Big Sky, MT, February 2-4,2010 update was created by Keith_Henson
After the big powder day on Monday, Tuesday was spent skiing tree powder, soft bumps, and light tracked powder under cloud filtered sun in temps in the teens.
My knee was hurting so Wednesday so I put on my grooming skis and in bright sun attempted to ski every groomer at Big Sky--an all day task. In the afternoon it started to snow and snowed hard. Yet the snow was about the size of a piece of dandruff . Even though it snowed all night, the accumulation was only about 4-6 inches.
Thursday, today, was fantastic. Though only half a foot, it was the driest lightest powder imaginable and when added to the powder underneath that was still soft and light the conditions were sweet. Add blue skies and we're talking sublime.
Off to Bridger Bowl tomorrow and Bozeman to buy groceries as things are very expensive here in Big Sky.

Picture 2: Lots of tree skiing off of the Shedhorn Chair. Skiers were working the chutes on Dirtbag Wall in the background
