Quick week here comes to and end all to soon. Rolled in last Sat to find 70cm of fresh from the last storm cycle. 25,500 people on two mountains that bluebird day. Glad we were driving not skiing. Putzed about the rest of the week, delicious groomers and lots of fresh just off the beaten path. Winds kept the alpine closed Tuesday, leaving Wednesday very tasty indeed. Had to break the cornice for entry to Sudans, did laps below VD chutes and in the trees OB on 7th in knee deep. Seems most of the tourists were content to chase for rocks in Zighys meadow rather than climb a bit above Lakeside Bowl. CBC North held lots of wind affected sugar, well worth the short boot up, very ski-able as were CBC trees. The small forest fire last summer didn't really open glades however did improve visibility and made it much easier to avoid the rock bands on the way to Glacier Road. Skinned a bit today for two glorious laps off Spearhead. Nailed Corona for 50+ turns in fluffy boot top, second lap to Husume. Both had excellent, stable coverage. Caught a rock on the edge at the exit from Don't Swill, craters in the picture are my tomahack divots, didn't think I was ever going to stop flipping. Glad I brought along a ski retriever as was impossible to climb back up. Mountain is skiing very well with 270cm on the ground and low temps in the alpine. Locals claim 2010 is scaring a lot of folks off,tho lots of lodging and parking available. Checked out the new RV park, for 159 per nite I can bring the motorhome up ! Shuttle is of course extra. Could pick up tickets to the closing ceremony for only 750 each. Some how Crystal is sounding better and better.

Hey Craig, I've been wondering how things were going up there for you.

I love the picture of the giant gully.

Hope you're not sore after your tommyhawking incident. That's hard on our "mature" bodies.

Injured reseve for a day or two. Giant gully is Husme, right at the top of Blackcomb Glacier. 500 meters of pure bliss, think Brain Damage but much longer and not skied out at all. Maybe 4-5 people on a good day. Here's a shot from the bottom. Exit is via Blackcomb Glacier. Hope Ut is rockin.
