A harsh rainstorm on the drive on Wednesday was good new snow above about 1600m. So at the beginning of the morning we got really nice 1/2 powder runs (the top half) on the Whistler side. Then two Green chair runs with my daughter (she's 6 and did great) and when she was done, off to Blackcomb, a quick 7th Heaven run and Ruby Bowl.
When they put in Peak to Peak, I thought it was pointless - who would ride a lift where you gain no vertical? But this was a good example of its worth - I needed to meet up with family on the Whistler side and still was able to ski Blackcomb. That would have been a non-starter before.
Not crowded at all, there was still powder to find at the end of the day, pretty cool. A sparkling day, the forecast was dead wrong.
