What an awesome day! Arrived as the lifts opened. Crowds were amazingly light. I don't think we waited in a lift line all day long after the initial rush right at opening. There were empty chairs going up every lift all day long.
There was about 10 inches of fresh when we arrived in the morning. After a couple quick warm up laps on Big Chief we headed to the back side and spent the rest of the morning on Orion and Aquarius Face. We found plenty of fresh or lightly skied tracks all morning long and the snow was staying soft.
The latest storm started moving in around 11:00 am and by noon the wind and heavy snow was quickly filling in tracks. By the time we headed back out after lunch many people had already left and there were more empty chairs going up the back side lifts than full chairs. Lots more laps on Aquarius and then a final trip down Wild Katz to grab beers.
Tomorrow should be great at Stevens as it was dumping and blowing when we left. Everything will be filled in by morning (if it isn't already).
