Backside opening day - 5 weeks earlier than last year.
Double Diamond chair had technical issues not running so instead of going backside right at start I went to 7th Heaven .... and basically didn't leave. I believe that I did 28 consecutive laps on the chute side, still finding connected fresh turns in the trees on #28. Snow was a maybe slightly heavy yet quite pleasant powder, very slight crust in some under tree spots.
Also took one run out on Backside on skiers right Highland Bowl starting from just past the boundary. Top part very nice. Once down into steeper trees could see that not all the drainages and gullies were filled, and even got into a little drip crust stuff on traverse out, but the top part still made the run worth it.
Snowed much of day but always seemed like light snow and telemetry bears that out.
Shims Meadow was a little too scrambly, needs more snow.

hmmm i probably say you up doing the chutes. i did like 6-7 laps from 9-45ish down Chute 2 (think its called nancy?) Saw one other guy do at least 3-4 laps while i was riding the chair (think he had skis with orange base...yours?) Was glad most went down rock garden.

But i agree with your conditions. Backside was decent but got tracked out fast. My hour on 7th was probably best turns i had all day (and man i felt it in my legs....im so out of shape)
