From Campbell Basin Lodge, by cell.
Heavy snow storm.... dumping the heavy stuff... foggy, windy. Can't see. Ice on my leading edges.

If you got eagle eyes & thunder thighs, then this ones for you.

Good addition to the snow pack... not too busy around here.

Going to lodge ski a bit....

From the Bullwheel... black butte porter & chili @ 1:20pm....

Skied some more.... storm cleared up. Busting the deep chop. Steep virgin pow is nice. But heavy snow at lower levels.

The season is on with good base building..

Greeted the day with wet snow in the parking lot. Damp set in waiting for the chair to start loading... we survived.  :)
Sunnyside was variable, Green Valley, pea soup. Green Valley trees under the chair were fun. Nothing akin to champagne, maybe more like a porter, a little heavier and just as intoxicating... snowed all day and the wind was completely manageable only coming in gusts at the top around noon. 4 hours later we wrestled our way through bear pits down into the cement at the base. All three of us took a nose dive with some spectacular face plants when we hit snow level... it didn't just grab it yanked you under!

Rough day for me with deep snow and a "new to me" set of borrowed boards, but what a thrill to claim day 5 of November skiing!

Also of note, having accessed bear pits just after being opened, it was fairly untracked. With just a ski cut, all 10 inches of new slid quite readily.

Got a late start after a few too many Alakan Winterhooks the night before. Arrived at about 9:45am to a sopping wet parking lot and rain fall. I was pleasantly surprised to find excellent POW all through Sunny Side atop REX, seemingly untouched! I figured I'd be punished for my late arrival by being subjected to chop-scraps, not the case. I couldn't get enough of Sunny Side and laid line after line before grabbing a beer and burger at the Bullwheel and calling it a day; a rather early departure due to soaking wet gear.

Telemetry looks like it was cooling of as the afternoon progressed. Still precipitating as y'all departed?

Very helpful reports. Thanks!

Hey Craig, what's it doing right now?
