Aug 23- Patagonia strikes back was created by Scotsman
Sunday we awoke to clear skies and rushed to the resort and got three runs top to bottom of glorious knee deep powder. Then things started going wrong.
On a chair I was talking to an Argentinian couple when the bar was brought up as we were approaching the dismount. I was leaning forward not paying attention and it hit me in the face and broke my front tooth off. Very painful. We continued to ski with me looking like Billy Bob but the weather was coming in.
We left early to try and get dental care and then Rob lost his reading glasses so now he can't read anything. We are like Billy Bob and his idiot brother with me reading everything to him with a whistling lisp through the gap in my front teeth. We have become a pair of losers!
To make matters worse it is now raining right up to the top of the hill and skiing for the rest of the week looks improbable. Ahh well, such is life. 72 hrs of travel for 3 good runs.
Saw Marcus, Andy and Anastasia last night. They had just arrived and were considering options !
Off to get some local dental care!

Scotty, Only you could bring tears of laughter while reading about your travel misadventures. Jill also had a dental incident during one our Patagonia trips - broken tooth. Jill also can relate to Rob loosing his reading glasses. On our recent boating adventure off the northern end of Vancouver Island she swatted at a horsefly and knocked her glasses overboard.
After you fill up on beef, beer and chocolate, you can do the tourist stuff with the thousands of teenagers that are probably in Bariloche now. Email me if you need some suggestions.

Thanks Zap.
Dentist was a hottie but there were a few scary moments. While in the waiting room all we could hear was a child crying loudly and for a long time. Rob and I looked at each other and burst out laughing. When it was my turn I was relieved to see that it was the child's mother that was getting the treatment and the child was only crying due to being grumpy.
100 pesos for some temp covering to stop the pain and I have to go back on Wed to get a cap for another 200 pesos. Pretty good.
As you say there are groups of teenagers in indentical colored clothing roaming the streets.
Very strange.
Weather is very very bad. Ski area closed and forecast grim.
Here's a pic of the damage.

Broke two of mine off my plate in a mountain village in Japan. a mountain pickle did me in! Went to a small stationary supply store and asked for some super glue. The woman didn't have any super glue. She did have "supa" glue and that worked just fine!
Here's hoping that rain turns to snow!
