My wife and I met skybum and his lady at Stevens for 2nd-to-last day. Starched corduroy and golfballs gave way to corny goodness. We had grilled burgers, dogs, cheese and crackers, fruit, pie, beer and Beam.
It was tough off -piste, but I had to try some sidecountry, which I bought my pass for but never got around to much. I booted up the Tye-Tunnel col and above to the power tower, and dropped the triangular face back to the easy run. Bottomless mush and breakable crust; my tracks looked OK at the end but it felt lke survival. Still, it was good to drop the knee on a feature I'd ogled for years, even a small one.
Do any of the features along the Rooster Comb have names?
I guess I skied the Rooster's Beak.
