An amazing display of multiple lenticular clouds hovered over and around Rainier yesterday as drivers headed up for the last day at Crystal.

The temperature never went below freezing on Saturday night and the snow was softer and easier to ski than Saturday.

Powder Bowl was especially nice. Snow was more corn like than slush by the end of the day.

The end of the day event (and a good strategy for clearing the mountain) was the Bikini Downhill down Goldhills with a Gold Pass the prize. Craig, "Team Wally," ably announced the event for the hundreds who were not disappointed by the spirited performances by the racers. Lots of thrills and spills.

The closing of Crystal was sad enough but was especially a downer as it was also the last day for our beloved Puyallup's Sturtevants. There are not enough words to praise Keith Rollins and his wonderful crew at Sturt's for all they have done for so many of us individually and for the whole ski community. I don't know what we will do without them in the south sound but look forward with eager anticipation to the details of the opening of a Sturt's at a new location this fall.

Kudos to the guy ( it musta been a guy) who thought up the bikini downhill and set the course. The girls where absolutely rocketing down and getting caught by the compression at the bottom and short stopping zone. Many spills and they earned my respect.

Two days of fantastic spring skiing in glorious weather.
What a great season!

Great photos ! ! Much better view than from where I was stationed. I will attest to the raspberry factor as the competitors made their way to the Patio. As Cory so aptly stated: "skin to win". Reviewed the event with Marketing today after my walkabout and we voted to add a Speedo Class for all of you real men next year, Speedos and headgear being the only attire allowed ! We will request bios with stats and sponsors to liven up the play by play a bit, perhaps a Qualifier, Final and Super final as well. BTW Ms Tiana was the instigating party. Kudos to SnowGirl for spicing up the last day. And super At a girl to Justice, the Snow Report voice for taking a run at it. That is all. EOS (End of Season)

Taylor wanted to see the races at the end of the day, closing day for Crystal Mountain.
The races were fun to watch. A lot of crashing, not too much space for slowing down at the end.
