April 15th Crystal

Great Day, lots of peek a boo sun, groomers were buttery, left overs from yesterday had consolidated a bit but still joyful . North facing aspects were back in vogue. Best of the day was Elk Bowl from the top and the upper entrance, skiers high left of Rinky Dink.. Tracy, Kieth and the Sturdevent's crew were busy showing off next years gear and shooting video. Short North opened at 11, lots of deep (it's been mostly closed since Sunday, brief open Monday PM) unfortunately a lot of heaviness. Did a quick boot to the chair terminal and found bits of joy in the trees but not enough joy to do it twice. Took a quick skin up East Peak mid afternoon and was able to grab a few shots of Rock Face and Right and Left Angle Trees to O Meadows which may serve to clarify what's really back there. Based on the forecasts and todays soft snow I'd say the powder fest has come to an end for lift serviced skiing, however the prognosis for a long self propelled season is bright. I remain a dirt bag in B lot. That is all. (for now)
