Perhaps the most remarkable thing was the light crowds.  There were perhaps 12 or so people politely milling around Big Chief for the 8:55 opening, and the usual places stayed quiet all day.  The snow was generally very good to great, with a couple of inches of fresh over cut up powder.  There was the tiniest bit of perceptible crust or ice underneath in a few places like the entrance to Aquarius face or Double D, that was it.  Speaking of Aquarius, is was so good even about 10:30 or so I had to do it 3 times in a row.  The sun never came out and it snowed very lightly all day; no accumulation but no thermal damage either. "the meadows" of 7th was unpleasantly heavy but the rest of it was pretty darn good.  The snow was melting on contact to the chair cushions in the warmer afternoon, and the car thermo said 33 at 2:30, I guess with the next front approaching.  Watched some guy get GIANT air off that rock under Tye Mill.  If they get the predicted snow on top of today's moderately cut powder, tomorrow should be great

Hopefully it will still be great on Friday; Saturday and Sunday for that matter. I plan to be there on those days.
