April 1, 2009, White Pass Powder day

White Pass has been getting fresh powder all week.  As it is spring break for the school district I work for, I decided to take the rest of this week off.  Conditions there were coldish and ongoing powder dumps.  I did one run in my Volkl All Stars and they were not up for anything powder related so I switched to my new (to me) Dynafit Carbon's.  While they are not the widest powder skiis, they were much better than the Volkl's.  I made as many runs as my burning thighs allowed for (about 4 hours worth) and found lots of untracked or barely tracked tree runs.  Another great day on the big white wave!

Hey, Larry, I figured that was going to be a good day, but couldn't get away. Looks like you found the good trees. With 8" today and 6-10 tonight, and tomorrow, Friday, being the first in a series of mostly sunny days, this may mark the killer Bon Voyage to the end of [resort] powder season around these parts ~ I do believe I'll be there ~ hope to see you there.

I'll be up there this afternoon, and spending the weekend up there for skiing into Hogback. It would be fun if we can hook up again.
