March 30, 2009 Schweitzer, ID

I met Jill at Schweitzer late Sunday afternoon and we were planning to leave when “the women” offered me a king-size bed, hot tub, dinner and a free lift ticket.  I’m soooo weak – I agreed because the storm hitting Whitewater was lingering an extra day.   It has been a few years since my last visit to Schweitzer and they’ve added the Basin Express, another quad above Basin, plus a T-Bar serving a vast, gladed area. The groomers were fast and perfect carpets.  The glades on the Backside are enormous.  They received 6” the previous day and the scrapes were still enjoyable.  Schweitzer is big, but it was cold and windy; I wish I weren’t so sensitive.  I kept looking northwest at the dark clouds and knew Whitewater was getting hammered. Time to head North, ehhh.

My sister-in-law is up at their place just south of the bridge, and she had a Good news/Bad news thing:
Good-Schweitzer is getting socked this week too.
Bad-Someone broke into their car in the driveway and stole her skis!
