Skied with Steve 9-1. It was great first thing in the morning in shade-protected snow, but got heavy fast out in the sun. Upper I stayed nice with big soft powder moguls. Light crowd, ski-up chair two. We hiked East from the top of Armstrong Express a few minutes and got some untracked foot-deep coming down into the shade...nice. A little scary and a first for me: we entered Shot Six and were side-slipping down the corridor when "spontaneous" slides started raining on us from the cliffs above. One in particular could have hurt if someone had been right under it. I am not sure if they were sympathetically released from our noise/vibrations, or just true naturals perhaps from tree bomb action higher up. As we looked down the slanting corridor , we saw more and more slide activity from the cliffs to the West. This was about noon. Hmm. So we exited into those tight trees. High T still closed at noon.
