Every time I drive to Crystal I am passed by people crossing double yellow lines to pass. If they choose to put themselves at risk so be it. But they are often passing on blind curves in treacherous conditions. I advocate for increased patrolling of the Crystal Road and for 410.

I think this is a "fine" way to generate revenue. I shudder to think of someone I love  being killed by some immature driver illegally passing and speeding so that he can arrive 5 minutes earlier at Crystal or home.

I drive this road probably more than most people and I agree that it is nice to get some speed and reckless driving enforcment on 410. There are more stories than I can write here.
I do think it is a little over the top that he tickets those for riding in the back of a pickup because they have no seatbelt. So much for hitching back to the area in a truck. But a law is a law and he is there to enforce it to the T.

Riding in the back of a pickup isn't necessarily illegal, and if someone got a ticket for that it wasn't from me. But, the rumors around Crystal are pretty out of control, so I don't doubt someone told you they did. But, I have warned people for riding on the tailgate and hanging their feet down onto the road while the truck was moving, but again, it was a warning.

whew! I'm sure glad uncle LEO was in front of his computer posting the above comment instead of waiting to catch me passing everyone at 65mph up the blvd with my bong in the snow this morning!

Thanks for the clarification Ian-That is what I had heard, so at least people are thinking about it. And there have been some crazy hitchhiking moves with skiers on the rear bumpers and on the ski racks.
We discussed the legalities of riding in the back of a pickup today after a friend did some research.
Thanks for the good work, I appreciate your service in a dangerous stretch of road.
I was wondering if the guy that blew by me this evening on the boulevard would be the your next visitor
