Got a late start after deliberating with buddy over whether we should attempt to get some work done (or more like find work) for our respective self-employed occupations... Hit the road at 10:30am from Tacoma, electing for the Bonney Lake route to, and made pretty good time; about an hour-twenty or so.
There was only one thing to do on a day as such; hike. Hit the traverse to SBC at about 12pm with sun-soaked 30-degree+ temps. Took about an hour to boot it all the way to Three-Way and the MRNP entrance. Along the way, saw some folks skinning from Crystal Lakes to the peaks across the way. Spoke with an old ski-bum who was witnessing the event; he was adamant about that being a bad idea. Looks like a hell of an avy path(s)! Kudos to those who went for it. I hope there's a TR for that mission.
Dropped the side of Three-Way, EPIC 40-mph snake turns through a fresh apron and to the bottom! Hoots and hollars from a few skiers!
My buddy saw someone posted in the middle of Silver Basin in a tent with a man-made camp site. Thinking he may have been apart of the skin-crew...
Hit the Bull for beers, one last speed cruiser, and hit the road.
Beats the hell out of work...or trying to find it....
