Saturday - skiing with the kid. What a stormy day!!!
Morning walking up from the parking lot - sunny and cool. Competition runs being run on the King. Racing runs setup both sides of Gold Hills and on the Stump Farm... Breezy enough.
Then after lunch, the winds hit from multiple directions. We had snow devils swirling up. Snow being blown uphill. finally they closed chair six as we entered true blizzard conditions, falling snow, driven snow, snow picked up off the ground and blown to who knows where.... I was thinking that this is where we should be hanging out in the lodge for the day and come out the next day after the storm for some Warren Miller Blue Sky Pow Turns....
And we just skied through it all till 3:45pm... moderate crowds for a weekend. Heavy snowfall at the end of the day. When I opened the car door, the insides got dusted with the white stuff..... Easy exit from the parking lot. At Enumclaw we passed over from the dark side into blue skies and sunshine.... The weather is such a kick.
Serious good snow up there.
