There was not cloud one in the ski this morning in the Little Cottonwood Canyon. The top of Hidden Peak was reporting minus 4 and high winds. The vistas, hidden for the past few days, remind me that its not just the snow that makes Utah skiing so grand.

Nursing my knee a bit I stayed mostly on the groomers and packed powder. There were many giant mogol fields. In the afternoon I escalated through the tunnel over to Mineral Basin. The winds on the ridge were ferocious and picking up the snow and depositing it on the basin's face. The surface was smooth and the deep, wind blown powder was like creamy butter and ideal for carving, top to bottom. Did 6 laps on that.

The first picture is to the mountains across the street from Snowbird. You'll notice the tracks of a single skier heading up the ridge. The other pictures are of the winds whipping the snow around in Mineral Basin, snow plumes on the ridge, and so forth.

And speaking of pictures, I picked up mine today from the Bird from the powder day on Sunday. Check these out!
