Love the Cannon reference...grew up in Franconia, NH skiing at Cannon!  Gotta love the north-facing wind blasted state-owned greatest mountain on the east coast!

Yeah, love it too. I grew up in NH not too far south of Franconia (Plynouth area) and lived and worked at Loon for a few years. Haven't been to Canon (at least in the winter) in a long time.

Snoqualmie was the same - ice, ice, ice!!!  I just pretended that I was skiing frozen corn/death cookies off the top of Adams and that a large jet was flying right behind me. 

What a night.

LOL! We were calling it "highway-conditions" given the unnerving noise and high speeds. I like the trailing jet analogy, I think I'll run with that one for a while

I have great memories of skiing at Cannon. It was almost always about 5 degrees and blowing about 50 mph. We would be skiing glare ice with a little man made blowing across the top and saying, "This is AWESOME!"

Ignorance truly is bliss.
