Missed the rain & floods as i was scheduled to ski in Utah last week.
joined a friend @ ski in ski out @ Canyons resort.
There was only about a 45 inch base and not a lot of snow in the five day forcast- left the touring gear @ home.
First day we arrived it was the coldest day in Utah for the winter - did not ski. Next day a nice dump left us light knee deep powder. Was surprised the base hid most rocks and made the tree & glade skiing very nice. Never felt the bottom.
Two days later there were still a lot of fresh lines to ski - never was in a lift line and few others skiing off piste.
Thursday night it puked all night and on Friday spent the day @ Deer Valley again skiing trees, glades & bowls all day long..again no lines and few people off piste. Many runs were well over my knees.
Price for flights from Seattle to Salt Lake have dropped to $138 and you can use your boarding pass for your first days ticket. Noted lodging prices have dropped to about $110 or so including tickets.. but Sundance is coming ....

That's pretty dang enticing. You should move this over to the Random tracks section for a bigger audience... although then you'd have more folks offpiste with you. ;D
