Wind hold on Chair 6 all day which meant my plans to ski the South Back was on hold also, I brought skins but my partner hadn't.
I tried to find some fresh in the NB but Snow Bell had tracked it all out during his powder induced frenzy the other day.
O's meadows proved to be the best of the chop!
I now have to go back and pretend to work for a while. :'( :'( :'(
Twas a good week of skiing.
I love the jet stream!

I too was hopping for fresh in South, but alas I found the stash off of BP and was good all day and got better as the wind filled in and the crowds went inside. My son was at the gate of South the day before and had some real good turns just below Boxcar, he is till rubbing it in.
It's been real good, I too must fake it for a week and will be in the hills soon, this work thing is getting old.

Sorry for the change of subject but will all the rain expected sort out the majority of the fears over the existing snowpack once it settles down again?

Good question, saw a lot of sluffing today and several big piles of rubble from patrol's work. Area from Rock Face thru Kellys slid to the road, took a bunch of cat work just to clean up. I was surprised at the early opening of 6 and North. North and Left Angle trees were money, lap after lap. CM's patrol flat out hustles on game day. As far as snowpack consolidation with rain goes, that would be the theory. Practically we've had several Utard like light dry storms followed by higher moisture content accumulations. Avy pros around the west say this is one weird year as evidenced by the major releases at Snowbird, Jackson and some others. I'm still optimistically cautious and ski with my avy gear even on an inbounds day. There are plenty of opportunities for someone to get caught and I for one don't want to be unprepared. Karma maybe. I'm in B lot as I type, 31 and light snow. I looked at Noaa, NWAC, Larry and Renner and all they have in common is moisture. That is all.
