Opening day at Alpy today, got first chair and enjoyed what felt like about ~18 inches of soft luv for 6 laps before it began to get pretty tracked (and had to get back to town). Only the quad open, rode up the lift with some Alpatrollers who said this was the thinnest cover they've ever opened with and that Chair 2 was still a few feet away. Lots of treetops, shrubberies and hidden creeks to watch out for, but a great start to the day. Definitely the most subdued opening day I have ever experienced, the lifty just walked up and said "Welcome to Alpental," removed the barrier and let us on, 15 minutes early - appropriate and really cool.
