Snowboarded at Central for a few hours in the morning, I was expecting big crowds with the new snow falling and everyone out on break, but it was pretty deserted. Still plenty of exposed trees/rocks/etc.

As a follow up, took some fitness laps at Alpental. Lots of new throughout the day made for a fantastic afternoon (if you didn't mind the 10 degree temps and some wind).

Latest word from Alpatrol is a Friday opening (12/26) of chair 1. Chair 2 will remain closed until further notice. The current storm system should put them VERY close though.

Skied Central all day, though I was an hour late, and missed the inaugrural runs on Silver Fir. Still hit some untracked there, and there was 15-18" of blower. it snowed maybe 4" up top during the day. Face shots an hour after open at Central? Oh yeah!!  and the snow was  so light that you could actually makes turns on the  lower flats a bit.

About 6" more fell at Alpental, telemetry says. It's gonna be excellent there tomorrow, prolly super deep. Too bad the top won't open....and with the forecast calling for warming and 3+feet by Sunday morning, it may not even then. Hope so, though...but avy danger will go to High, most likely.

I'll be there, the greybeard with the creaky knees, who doesn't know how to slow down...or want to...

plink, it's never crowded on XMAS day.....tomorrow, though, will be a different story....assuming most can navigate their Seattle streets. It still deep, rutted, and slippery on Shoreline's side streets.
