10 degrees leaving the car at 10ish, lots of folks hungry for snow heading up. Easy skining to the top of Big Chief Mt. via groomers, occcasional wind kept things cool, and was starting to affect the snow on the back side. We skied Southern Cross to the bottom, and only hit occasional
soft rocks. Thanks to the crew that set the up track. We were reluctant to ski anything steeper (double diamond) on the way out (fearing hard rocks) so we just cruised Skid Road back to the car. Skiing into the wind I covered my face with my hand, afraid of frost nipping my nose. 17 degrees at the car, but the wind chill had us scurrying to get in. Jon's first day back on skis in almost a year went well.
