Chatting with a management type at xtal last weekend, and he indicated their numbers were down a net 30%. Not sure if this was just due to the 6 weeks of drought or economic factors or all of the above.

Yeah -- but real estate sales are the key to the economics of ski areas. I don't think Boise has the population to support a ski area with that many express lifts just on ticket sales -- particularly with Bogus Basin closer to Boise.
Now the big question is which ski area are going to buy and relocate Tamack's express lifts?

....they might have had a better shot at survival had they concentrated primarily on skiing instead of building and selling houses.
Yeah -- but real estate sales are the key to the economics of ski areas. I don't think Boise has the population to support a ski area with that many express lifts just on ticket sales -- particularly with Bogus Basin closer to Boise.
