Thursday - Great snow if you can see it.
Weather was foggy and snowing all morning until about noon. Several inches of fresh over chop. No grooming. So morning skiing was a little rough. Wore a head sock to keep the stingers off my face. Here we are at the end of the season and all the snow is still there.... with freshies. But in order to get good snow and keep good snow, you need some nasty weather.
Then about noon, we had blue sky and sunshine. I was looking to shed some layers and dump my helmet, but just had to ski hot for a while. While there was a lot of chopped covered by freshies, there was also some untracked goodies around. Ice Berg was good, Powder Bowl was busy, even did lower Bull Run twice ( usually it gets mushy at the end to the season). West Face, also known as North Face, was nice steep and deep. Even my secret pow pocket was good (over the bank off the back door of Campbell Basin Lodge).
Yes end of Season.... but a good end.
