Thought I'd give an update about eastside skiing for anyone in the area.

Great week at Schweitzer. Thursday morning yielded 13"+ and the mountain seemed occupied with about 95% locals. Face shots throughout the day and even during the afternoon hours. The sun even poked its head out for a few hours in the afternoon. The only hint of spring was in the higher density snow that had fallen. Not cold smoke, but not cascade cement either. Grabby snow led to a few momentous crashes early in the day, especially since it seemed like everyone had a craving for the extreme (i.e. "big bertha" on the backside).

Saturday was again a winter wonderland. Another 13" with the same higher density snow that we had on Thursday. Not a Saturday crowd, but more than I had expected in late March! I guess when Sandpoint gets 4", people still have winter on the mind and the bbq's are still gathering dust.

Left the skins at home all week. No need to tour when you've got untracked lines all day... forgive me because I know how lazy that sounds to some people. ;)

Hard to see Schweitzer stop spinning the lifts next weekend, but that just leaves more time for touring. If anyone wants to get out for some resort spring corn touring in the next few weeks, PM me cuz I'll probably be up there.
