Well... until about noon overcast and 3:00 snow storm.
Two car accidents on the way up. One was off in a deep ditch, the other a multi car injury accident.
A full week day crowd but not enough to track all the pow.
The morning hours were perfect pow. Like tossing a quarter and having it land upright on edge. Doesn't happen often. Snow on the ground all the way from Enumclaw. About eight inches new pow. On the upper slopes, we were up to our knees.
I didn't take my good camera because I thought it would be nasty and foggy up there. Semi confirmed when I saw all the weather piled up behind Enumclaw. But when we got up there... Sunshine and blue sky and a pow dump! I gave a little prayer of thanks while riding up the chair.
The snow pack is in real good condition. Lower slopes had fine PNW light pow. Some lower runs had some grooming up the center.... pow on the sides. Chair six was busy. North was open. South was closed... don't know if it ever opened. Avy blasting on avalance basin... saw geysers of snow shooting up into the blue sky off the top of avy basin.... then three seconds later... the boom.
GV bowl... pow turned to deep chop.. lots of fun. Deep snow on Ice Berg, West Face, Snorting Elk.
I noticed by noon that we were overcast... headed to snorting elk tavern down lower bull run... snow was deep but a little heavier. About 2:00 we started getting fogged in with white out visibility problems. Left at 3:00 pm.

There was hardly anyone there. Thee weren't even 25 cars in the B lot. Freshies all day long with the highlight being untracked powder off the top chute of the throne.
What a day! Off to Utah tomorrow for a week though the skiing at crystal looks like it will rival the bird...
