Just a quick note from NWBC. Our little hill has been hammered (in a very good way) by over 50cms in 3 days. The north aspects have kept their fluffiness while other facing slopes get a bit heavy later in the day. Even more important is the introduction of touring (as opposed to boot packing) to my 11 yr old's life. Proud dad is happy to report 3 self powered backcountry runs ( 2 off of second knoll and 1 deliverance to valley bottom) by my son Henry. Here he is, although not yet Dan Treadway, he's gettin in the pow! Wahoo, life's really good!

Gary,
One look at your photos made me homesick for Shames! Since leaving ,there has hardy been a day when I haven't thought about the fantastic terrain and people I met up there. ;D
Henry looks like he's gonna be a ripper like his father .
Aaaaahh Deliverence Trees in 50 cm of powder, I remember how good that was.
You need to take Henry down Zymacord Trees.
Stewie, my son still talks about that run as being the best ski day of his life , so far!

Scotsman, good hearing from you!! You know there's not too many days go by when I don't hear someone talking about the cool, keen, amero-crew (and that one guy with the goat who spoke with some sort of accent - was it texan?) that popped in for a visit. Henry and I also rode smithers a couple of days and of course bumped into patroller dave, who also remembered you!
The "ripper like his father" comment made me blush he he. thanks but i just try to keep up the the young freaks up here, 'cept in the schussboomer downhill. Chris, great to hear from you, can't wait to see ya and your posse (including the rippin Stew) up in these parts again, and hopefully we can ski more than a mere hill day next.
ps - forgot to mention the base at mid today is 384cm (about 12ft). 8)
