Blue bird was what we woke up to in Salt Lake City, UT today. My friend Aaron and I were ready by 7:00 AM awaiting what we've been told, "Utah, the greatest snow on Earth!" It hadn't snowed in a couple days and its has been in the mid to high 40's all week. Yesterday it was 48 degrees when we landed in SLC and was just as blue as today. We had just flown from the east coast where we skied in NH and ME, so we were ready for some great snow!
We were at the mountain by 9:00 AM and on the tram shortly after that. We went right for the back side because it looked soo good online but it was kind skied off from the day before and a little crusty. We took a quick lift and traversed over to skiers right and found some great freshies, but it was kind of flat so you couldn't get many turns in. We only did about 6,000 vert. on that side before we went back to the other side. We went all the way over the far side and found some waist deep pow in the trees and the far bowls! we were pretty much first people hitting these amazing lines, it was so nice looking up and only seeing our tracks with some good lookin' turns!
We hit some deep stuff all day, but by the end we wanted burn down some groomers. It was fun and all but we wanted something to work us hard. We found the chute while we rode up the quad that looked amazing! It took a good 10 minutes to traverse over to it, but it was worth the look! The chute was about 15 feet wide some you could get some quick turns in on the steep slope having sluff rip over our edges. It was soo good, we did it again for our last run bring our day up to over 30,000 ft. of vert!
We'll be there again tomorrow, we're doing our snow dance to bring a little bit to the mountain tonight. I just know it's going to be great!!!!!
Pictures for today will come soon.

Keep the Wasatch updates coming. I'm heading that way in a few weeks. Keep it up at the Bird. LCC is the spot, hope for a cycle and some lake effect. You should check out some BC stuff too. Patsey Marley and Cardiac are good times.....at least a little more track availability than the Bird.
