Today my buddy Aaron and I headed north from center harbor, NH up past conway to Wildcat Mt. We met up with his buddy he grew up with and hit the high speed quad that will take you to the summit in 6 and a half minutes while climbing 2250 vertical feet! It was unbelievable how fast that lift was! I have been told that they have a club where people ski 100,000 ft in a day, thats amazing! The snow was groomed with a little bit of freshies on top that help because of all the open ice patches. We raced down the groomers all day because that's what you do on the east coast because there really isn't any "powder days" like there is in the PNW. The trails have lots of hairpin turns and stuff so when you're stream lining down the slope and you have to totally turn and go the other directing, you have to be quick on your feet! It started snowing a little, just a nice dusting but it added up to about an inch or so. The last run of the day I just did a full tuck the whole 2250 ft of vert, like a 3 mile run and I think I may have hit speeds of like 35-40 mph, talk about leg burner! We skied 27,000 ft. of vert today and in only less than 4 hours, gotta love that very high speed quad! I would recommend wildcat to anybody in NH, it was great, no lines, which is weird because it's school vacation week! Gotta love east coast skiing cuz it's wicked good!
Pictures coming soon.

Wildcat is indeed "wicked good" (now I know you're in NH). I once skied there in late april with a 5 foot snowpack after two nor'easterns came through for $10 a ticket (after a day at Tucks of course, but who on earth could pass up $10 for a ski pass?!?). Another state owned ski area that rocks (the other being Cannon). Sounds like you've had a great tour of NH (state of my humble begginings).

Come on, you can't really be serious when you say there aren't powder days like the PNW in the East. I've had over-the-head days that were every bit as good as the west (best consistent snow is in VT, I will admit, though). The bc in NH is great, and not just the 300 VF abandoned ski areas. Stick to the groomed ski trails, padawon, you've much to learn!

I lived in N conway for a few years, The best was when they would have ski for free days, Early and late season. The rest of the time it was all climbing or XC skiing. One of my buddies had some hexels with ramers on them, He was from Colorado though.

Agreed. As an ex-pat, I still haven't topped my New England powder day tally. VT especially can get deep and cold snow that is extremely rare for the PNW. Access back there is better in a sense too. We have what, a half dozen real access points to the winter backcountry by car? Back there pretty much everything is plowed and you dont need no stinkin Sno Park pass to use it. Dont get me wrong, the type of terrain we have available to us here is amazing, but the you have to give props to the NE.
