Just in case you plan to ride the lifts or tour in the Stevens area, here's a conditions report. Normally, Jill and I would not have skied with only 3" new(we've been spoiled) but some friends were at Stevens and we have a midweek pass. The groomers were great and the ski area was deserted. The ski area did actually receive about 3" overnight and it was cold on the mountain. It was blowing over my bottom boot buckle.
We skied the groomers because off piste is was "variable", aka dust on an irregular crust. Chicken heads were out in force. Now, there were plenty of folks off piste trashing and crashing and probably having fun of some sort. As for touring, I would imagine it might be "interesting" especially after such wonderful conditions during the last storm cycle. As for me, I'm riding the lifts and cruising the groomers, hopefully in the sun on Thursday.
