Very unusual day at Alpental. Most of the Tuesday regulars stayed away, probably due to the warm temps and forecasted rain, but the sun came out for several hours.
12-14 inches of fresh was covered with a shiny 1/8 inch layer of water ice on Nash/Adrenaline. I was expecting the worst, but the ice shattered at the right speed and you could ski "almost" normally. The ice made an eery sound as it chased you down the hill at 25 mph. I've never skied anything like it.
