Please be safe at Mt. Baker. Ride with a partner, stay in visual and audio contact, wear a beacon, avalungs are great. Or just stay on the groomers and mellow stuff. There was an avalanche near Chair 5 under the Library Cliffs on Thursday. Definite slab avi that ran down a few hundred feet with partial burials. Everyone was OK, but missing some gear. Probe line was done by several patrol and locals. Bham Herald was told by the resort that it was a SLUFF! Still no accident report on NWAC. You should know the truth. And don't go out on the Elbow (top of chair 5) without the proper gear and knowledge. Big slabs this past week!

And then there are the cops for the banked slalom weekend. Not cool. Posting from the east542.com website:
"Here's an update on what the folks with flashing lights were doing in the parking lot.
They walk around with dogs and if one of the dogs points to a car, the tire is marked. On the way out, if they see your marked tire, then they pull you over and do a search or whatever.
So, don't leave anything in your car that dogs like, or check your tires before you leave. I don't know how they are marking the tires, but that's what went on this weekend.
I'd imagine that the same thing will happen at any large scale event at the mountain, so something to be aware of."

Welcome to freedom fest 2008
"Show us your ID citizen"
I Am pretty upset with the prison planet that is being constructed before our very eyes.
I heard that sheriff's ride around on skis with loaded guns in their belt, going around and trying to bust people for smoking pot. I would kick it into high gear, and just hide in 7 trees if I was ever "under suspicion".
Does anyone really feel "safer" with officer's on the hill? Does anyone feel safer knowing they are going to have to get a real ID with RFID tracking systems, retina scans, and mandatory pledges of allegiance to the USSA, I mean USA.
What forum am I on again?
KEEP SHREDDIN'! until it becomes illegal that is...
I guess we'll need to keep the prison guards busy though...wouldn't want that bunch out of work...
freedom,
Woody
