Some folks
claim it's been good. Haven't heard anything about the BC.

Tuesday was fun, with periodic blasting winds and lack of visibility due to blowing snow. Huge tree bombs were pelting the people waiting in line on Chair 2.
Things got tracked out quickly with NO GATES OPEN and only Edelweiss/Nash/Felsen to choose from - around 12:30 they roped off Lower I and Shot 6/Breakover Trees as well. Typical Tuesday crowd - locals and lots of good skiers with big skis.
Edited to add: My informants tell me Wednesday was the day. Chair 2 open at 9:30, Elevator Gate open at around 12:00

Wednesday indeed exceeded expectations. One good run on the express before chair 2 opened, one very good run on chair 2 before Breakover/Shot 6 opened, two great runs on Breakover and then one fantastic Shot 6 run with plenty of untracked.
Then the fun started. Elevator gate was opened for the first time in who knows how long. Lots of knee- to waist-deep stashes. And what lift line there was just disappeared. By eleven, you could just ski right up to the express and right up to chair 2. By 1:00, I had skied right around 20K of vertical, including my last four runs down upper Nash and various lines in Elevator. Finally had to quit to give my screaming thighs a break and head back to town.
The snow wasn't Wasatch cold smoke, but there was nothing to complain about, especially in the BC where it was deeep.
All in all, one of my two best days of the season so far, and this season has had a lot of great days.
Since this is my first post, I want to introduce myself. I'm an alpine guy and an Alpental pass holder from Seattle. I get up when I can during the week (it helps to be your own boss), but ski a lot on weekends too - my two daughters are in lessons at Alpental. I'm pretty much exclusively a resort skier - my BC experience is limited to Alpental. I'm fairly cautious, not being overly familiar with the BC and needing avalanche training. I've been lurking on this board for a couple weeks, and I like the reports, photos and discussions.
I look forward to getting acquainted with you all.

It was still pretty darn good last night. VERY stormy, so the snow was denser and tracked out, but still plenty soft and fun. Amazing coverage.
